Description
The museum, established in a modern building, opened to visitors in January 2023. The exhibition includes finds dating from 6500 BC to the present; the Neolithic, Chalcolithic, Bronze Age, Hellenistic, Roman, Eastern Roman and Ottoman periods are presented chronologically.
The artifacts come from mound excavations and ongoing excavations such as the İznik Tile Kilns, İznik Roman Theater, Underwater Basilica, and Hisardere Necropolis. There are exhibition halls on the ground floor and stone works in the garden. The garden display is also arranged chronologically.
Visit note: Open; it can be visited between 08.00 and 17.00, with the ticket office closing at 16.30. Adult admission is stated as 3 euros. Parking and restrooms are available.
