    Description

The church, whose first construction phase is dated to the 6th-8th centuries AD, has a ciborium plan measuring 22.5 x 21 meters. Based on sculptural decoration obtained during excavations, it is considered to have been one of the buildings of the Hyakinthos Monastery. The structure remained standing and in use until the Greek occupation in 1922.

The three-door entrance on the west led to the narthex and then to the naos; the square naos was enclosed by a dome supported by four piers. Before its destruction, depictions of the Virgin Mary and Child Jesus in the apse semi-dome, and of angels on the bema arch, were documented. Today, floor remains are preserved.

Visit note: The structure is in ruins; only floor remains are preserved. Its open or closed status and fee information are not stated in the source.
